Sarah's Wedding 29th December 2014

We love sharing stories about our Brides and we feel so special to be in clouded in our Bride special day.  We absolutely loved spoiling Sarah and her girls and asked Sarah to share her story with you all…love our Brides, love what we do!  Sarah was married on December 29th 2014.

The Proposal...

Patrick had originally planned to propose while we were out to dinner for HIS birthday. He thought I would never suspect it (and I didn't) but he chickened out as the restaurant was really busy, it was the Saturday just after Valentine's Day. We were in the process of moving house, so we went home to our makeshift mattress and TV on the floor, not exactly the perfect situation, but as I emerged from the bathroom after removing all my make-up, there he was, down on one knee.

The Planning...

We planned our wedding over 18 months, as Patrick is from Ireland and we wanted to give his family as much notice as we could. I always knew the style of dress I wanted, but finding the right one was a little challenging. I wanted the perfect mix of romance and glamour and I finally found it with my Maggie Sottero dress. It was honestly my dream dress. Our flowers were from Florabella Design, a selection of roses which complimented my White, Peach & Black theme. Our Photographer was Jason from Studio Sixty and chose Geoff from Motion Art as our Videographer. Even though Jason and Geoff had never met, they worked together so well and did a fantastic job of capturing our day. Choosing my hair and make-up was a no-brainer. I'd heard so many great reports about The Powder Room and experienced their professionalism for myself when I was bridesmaid for my Sister-in-Law the year before. Both Mel and SJ did an ah-mazing job. I couldn't have asked for more. From the moment I met The Powder Room's owner, Karen, I felt like I had known her for years and she really understood the vision for my day.

We were married at St. Stephen's Cathedral followed by our reception at Victoria Park Golf Complex. The staff at Victoria Park were so great to deal with and were very accommodating. It was honestly the most amazing day of our lives. Everyone always tells you that the day passes by in a flash, and they are so right. As I walked up the aisle, I honestly felt I was floating. It was such a surreal experience.

Advice...

My advice to other brides would be to be as organised as you can and don't leave things to the last minute. Be relaxed on your wedding day, what will be, will be. And make sure your photographer gets all of the family and friends photos captured after the ceremony... because once you hit the reception, its all about the party, you don't want to miss out on photos with special people in your life.
